Spotify removed 750,000 songs. The truth about

In the last days, Spotify removed over 750.000 songs from their platform. Why?

Spotify claimed this was an attempt to fight “artificial streaming” numbers, a war that’s been longer than that, given the large number of artists, promoters and labels who’re looking to grow their stats via bots. Stats that you can buy without great efforts on internet via fake “promotion companies”.

Sadly, this time seems that Spotify made a big mistake.

A lot of artists who didn’t use any promotional services or with few hundreds (and not even) of streams gathered overnight without their songs on the platform.

The culprit is the AI (Artificial Intelligence), who still has big obviously problems.

But the funny thing is that a big part of these songs seems to be delivered by DistroKid (maybe just because it’s one of the bigger distributors around the industry). According to DistroKid, Spotify did this “cleaning” without warning any music distributors or artists.

The real question is... Were little artists treated differently than biggers?

This is something that many people are wondering, since to every “cleaning” the affected are the little artists. On their side, big artists have an extensive fanbase in addition to Spotify editorial playlists, so, the percentage of suspicious streams that can be find in the stats of a big artist will be definitely lower compared to a little artist (we have our doubts about the last thing that happened).

But how to deal with this in the future?

The only suggestions we can give you to deal with this in the future is to diversify your investments on more platforms. Also, pay great attention to those fake companies/sites who you find around the web easily, really on a real company.

That’s why we offer a long list of services: SoundCloud promotion, Spotify promotion, TikTok promotion, label placements, management and coaching.

Even though it’s not our competence, if you too are between the various unfortunate who woke up one day and didn’t find their tracks on the platform, our team will be happy to help you. How? Write us to: info@bangerangnetwork.com

Lastly, we want to wish you a happy 2021.
